Shoutout to the old timer in Tulsa who showed me the two-block trick for swinging loads
Kept fighting the load bounce on a 60 foot radius pick and he told me to bump the swing brake early instead of riding it out. Cut my tagline time in half and my hands stopped sweating by lunch. Anybody still using this or did you find something better?
That "bump the swing brake early" line is the whole game right there. I ran a 70 foot radius on a rooftop HVAC job and was getting whipped around like a tetherball until an old hand told me the same thing. You gotta kiss the brake just before the load peaks, not after, because once that bounce starts you're just chasing it. I also started shortening my tagline a touch on those long picks so the load has less room to swing back at me. Between that and keeping my swing speed steady instead of jerky, my placements got way smoother. Still do it every time I'm stretched out past 50 feet.
