Mirror hack for blind spots during city crane work

Working downtown, I kept missing hand signals from the ground crew due to building obstructions. I picked up a small convex mirror and fixed it to the side window of the crane cab. This gave me a clear view of the signal person without turning my head. It's a simple fix that really helps with precise load placement.

How did you attach the mirror without blocking your view? Nice work, I did almost the same thing on a tight site last fall. I used a small bike mirror clamped to the cab's door handle, it showed me the signal person's whole area. Really sped up the lifts when I could see them without guessing.

Used a heavy-duty suction cup mount on the windshield, right at the top corner. Stays put even when swinging the boom around. Your bike mirror idea is clever for tight spots too!

What keeps the mirror from shaking loose during crane movements?
