Had a close call with a load swing on a windy day in Tacoma last month
I was lifting a steel beam about 80 feet up when a gust hit it sideways. The tag line guy lost his grip for a second and the whole thing started to spin. I had to drop the load speed way down and talk him through getting it back under control. What's your go-to move when the wind picks up and a load gets squirrelly?
Tell the operator to freeze everything. Had a load of decking panels catch a gust and turn into a giant sail once. Just had to ride it out until the wind died down.
