My hair color looked off in different school lights today.
I was teaching and saw my reflection in the window. My highlights seemed way brighter outside than under the classroom lights. Do you have tips for checking color in various lighting?

That reflection in the window is the best test. Classroom fluorescent lights are the worst, they wash everything out. Next time, try checking your color in your car's rearview mirror and a grocery store's freezer aisle lights, those will show you the real extremes.

Car headlights at night were my real test. That harsh white light shows every single flaw. I found my bathroom mirror with the overhead fan light on works too, it's almost as bad as those freezer aisles. Natural light from a north facing window in the morning is the kindest judge by far.

Oh yeah, the freezer aisle is brutal, @uma_lopez is totally right. I swear by checking in my car mirror under a gas station canopy at night, that weird greenish light shows everything.
