Had the worst Tuesday with a perm disaster in my chair
I tried a new wrapping technique on a client with fine hair and the curls turned into a frizzy mess after rinsing, took me 3 hours to fix with a deep conditioner and flat iron. Has anyone else had a perm go totally sideways on them and how did you fix it?

Went through something similar last month with a perm on a client who’d been using a fancy protein treatment at home, hair felt like straw afterwards. @parker_campbell hit on a good point about buildup, I spent a full afternoon just trying to get the products out before even touching a rod again. Switched to a gentle protein filler and they still hold perm pretty decent after a week so it worked out okay.

oh man, the real issue nobody's talking about is what conditioner they were using before the perm. I had a client once who swore by some coconut oil deep conditioner and her hair was just coated. the perm solution couldn't even penetrate right and it turned into this weird gummy texture. had to wash her hair like three times with a clarifying shampoo before even attempting a redo. might be worth checking what products they use at home.
