Finally figured out why my foils were taking forever

Used to spend 45 minutes just sectioning for a full highlight. My timing was terrible. About 3 months ago I watched a girl at a salon down the street from me in Phoenix do her sectioning and she was done in 10 minutes flat. Switched to a diagonal part method instead of my old straight grid. Cut my whole foil time by almost 20 minutes. Anyone else have a random technique change that saved them that much time?

Really stopped me cold when I saw how she just grabbed that hair and yanked it to the side like that. Looked like she was about to scalp someone on live TV. Then bam, perfect volume and face framing out of nowhere. I tried it on my wife last night and somehow ended up with a part that made her look like a startled peacock. We laughed for ten minutes straight. Still don't get how that Dallas stylist makes it look so effortless.
