Just got back from a Trimble user group in Dallas, still scratching my head
I sat through two days of demos at a Trimble user group in Dallas and every contractor in the room was raving about their new layout tools, but I kept thinking about the crews I've seen who still run off paper prints and a tape measure. In my experience, the fancy software only helps if the guy on the slab actually trusts it, and half the foremen I know would rather mark a beam with a Sharpie than pull up a tablet. Am I the only one who thinks we're pushing tech faster than field workers are ready to adopt it?

“Fancy software only helps if the guy on the slab trusts it” is exactly the problem, because the guy on the slab doesn’t need to trust it, he just needs to follow the numbers it spits out. If the foremen are too stubborn to learn a tablet, that’s on them, not the tech, and the crews that adapt are gonna outbid the Sharpie guys every time.
