I finally found out why my crew's field data kept vanishing

Turns out the tablets were auto-updating to a new firmware and wiping the offline sync cache. Found it buried in a vendor forum post from 2022. Has anyone else dealt with silent firmware updates killing their daily reports?

Did you check if the vendor actually fixed this in a later firmware update, or are they still pushing out the same broken version? I had something similar happen a few years back where the fix was buried in a changelog nobody read, and the company kept claiming it was a user error. The bigger question is, how much data did you lose before you caught it, and did support even own up to it when you told them? That would decide if I'm switching vendors or just blocking updates entirely.
