The Denver airport murals made me stop laughing at 'crazy' theories
I was there for a layover last year and saw the weird art up close, the one with the dead kids and the soldier in the gas mask. That's not just odd decor, it's a specific message. How do you explain a city putting that in a public space?

My cousin took a photo of that gas mask statue and it creeped me out for days. I don't buy the whole lizard people thing, but that place has a weird vibe for sure. Makes you wonder what the artist was actually going for.

Yeah @amy858, that statue is seriously messed up. What gets me is the city approved it, so what message were they actually trying to send to travelers? It feels like a very specific kind of warning.

Gotta respectfully disagree here. That statue is supposed to make you uncomfortable, that's the whole point. Look at the artist's statement online, it's about how tourism and environmental decay both wear us down, it's not a hidden conspiracy thing. Sometimes a weird public art piece is just weird, not a secret town warning.
