I finally quit a conspiracy forum over moderation bias

Honestly, I was active in a big conspiracy debate group for months. Tbh, the mods kept deleting posts that questioned mainstream narratives, even with solid sources. Ngl, it felt like they were pushing an agenda instead of fostering debate. For example, any discussion about vaccine side effects was instantly removed without review. This just drives people to more extreme spaces. I learned that without fair moderation, these debates become pointless. Now I see why so many communities turn into echo chambers.

Ask if you tried appealing those deletions. What did the mods say when confronted? Vaccine stuff always gets heated fast. Wonder if they had a rule against health topics. Seems like they just wanted to avoid drama.

Actually, sometimes the mods don't even see the appeals if it's an auto-mod bot that did the deleting. I mean, I've had posts vanish before and the appeal just goes into a black hole, idk. It's not always a person making that call.

Sometimes mods use bots that pick up on vaccine words, and appeals don't always get seen. From what I've seen, forum rules are often hidden or not clear, so people get caught off guard. Your mileage may vary, but health topics seem to get locked or deleted quicker than most. It could be less about stopping arguments and more about the site owners covering their backs. They might have strict orders from above to avoid any chance of legal issues.
