Airport security line in Dallas had a camera angle I can't shake

Went through DFW last Tuesday and noticed the bag scanner screens were angled so the TSA agents could see both the X-ray and the mirrored reflection of the passenger's face at the same time, has anyone else spotted that setup and wondered what they're actually watching for?
