After 3 failed debunk attempts, the 1990s ghost crop circles finally clicked for me

Back in April I was deep in the old BBC archives online, reading about the 1996 Oliver's Castle formation. Everyone says it was two guys with planks and rope. I tried to replicate the exact spiral pattern in my yard with a 4x4 and a string, took me three weekends and it still looked like a drunk snail crawled through tall grass. Then I noticed something in the original aerial photos nobody talks about: the crop bends at the nodes, not the base. That's a heat or microwave signature, not physical pressing. I looked up the 1990s patents for directed energy farming tests and there's a declassified Sandia doc from 1992 that matches the pattern exactly. My question is, has anyone else tried to reproduce the node bending with a microwave emitter and cheap wheat from a nursery? I got close once but the stalks scorched instead of just bending.

...and honestly, I mean, you spent three weekends on it because it's a silly lawn project, not because the original was made by aliens or microwaves. I looked at the same Sandia stuff when that doc floated around a few years back and it's mostly about drying seeds and soil weirdness, not making pretty spirals in a field. Maybe it's just me, but I think the real trick was probably a lot more boring than directed energy, like the guys just got lucky with the weather and a camera angle.
