Went back to split-screen co-op after years of online play
I grew up on Halo and Mario Kart with friends on the SAME couch. Then for like 10 years I only played multiplayer stuff online through a headset. Last week my buddy came over and we fired up It Takes Two on my PS5 and it was a totally different feel. Has the shift to online-only made anyone else miss just handing a controller to the person next to you?

Wait, you just now discovered this again? Bro, I've been screaming this from the rooftops for years. There's something about bumping elbows and yelling at the same screen that a headset just can't replace. The lag is zero, and you can actually see your buddy's face when they screw up. Modern gaming kinda forgot that half the fun is just chilling next to someone.

The "bumping elbows and yelling at the same screen" bit hit me right in the feels. I had this old buddy who used to come over every Friday night and we'd cram onto this tiny couch playing split-screen Halo, and half the game was just trash-talking each other's faces. You could see his eyes go wide when he realized I was about to snipe him, and the reaction was way better than any mic pickup. It's like online lobbies took that whole messy, fun part of gaming and traded it for perfect audio quality and lonely wins. Seriously, nothing beats that moment when you both lean back after a crazy round and just groan at each other.
