Rant: I spent 3 nights stuck in one Elden Ring boss, then turned off the damage numbers and beat him in 2 tries
I was watching every tick of damage instead of the actual fight, so my brain was reading math while Malenia was swinging at me. Turning the HUD off felt stupid at first but suddenly I was just watching her shoulders and timing my rolls. Does hiding the numbers help anyone else, or is that just me making excuses for being bad?

Yeah I did the same thing with the tree sentinel at the start and felt like a genius until I realized I'd just been staring at a health bar instead of the giant horse trying to kill me. It's like reading the menu at a restaurant while your food gets cold, you're so busy checking the numbers that you forget to actually eat. Taking the HUD off forces you to play the game instead of playing the spreadsheet.
