Finally listening to my old timer and wet curing every slab

The difference in strength is night and day since I made the switch.

Guess your old way was basically dust and prayers.

My buddy rushed the cure on his garage floor last year. The top layer dusted off every time he drove on it. Had to grind and seal the whole thing, total pain.

Consider when you start the wet cure too. If you wait until the surface looks dry, you already missed the best window. Starting too early can mess up the finish, but starting late is way worse for strength. Hitting that sweet spot makes a bigger difference than people talk about.

Wait, hold up. Wet curing is great for stopping cracks from drying too fast, but it doesn't actually make the concrete stronger in the long run. The mix design sets the max strength. All curing does is help it reach that full potential by keeping it wet. If you're seeing a big change, you might have been under-curing before. The real win is fewer shrinkage cracks.
