TIL the hard way that airport lounges share network bandwidth with everyone else

Honestly, I was stuck in the Delta Sky Club at JFK on a layover last Tuesday and tried to upload a 2GB config backup for a client. The connection crawled at like 3 Mbps because every business traveler was streaming video. I ended up paying for a day pass to the American Express lounge instead, those dedicated enterprise lines are way faster. Has anyone else hit this bottleneck during peak travel times?
