Saw a small coffee shop switch from Cat6 to fiber and their whole day changed
Their old Cat6 run was over 300 feet through the ceiling and had interference from the kitchen equipment. The owner told me they were losing maybe 10 transactions a day before the switch.

My buddy who runs a repair shop told me about a similar thing. He had a Cat6 cable running past his big air compressor and kept losing connection to his POS system. Switched to fiber and it was like night and day, no more random drops or slow checkouts. Makes sense that kitchen gear with all those motors and microwaves would mess with copper runs over long distances.

laughing at @troyjackson yeah that air compressor story is exactly the kind of crap that drives me nuts. I had a Cat6 line running near our walk in freezer compressor and the whole network would just freak out every time it kicked on. Like the POS would freeze mid transaction and people would just stare at me like I was the problem. Switched to fiber too and it was like magic, no more random disconnects when the microwave or fryer kicked on. Honestly surprised more restaurants dont just run fiber from the start, copper is basically asking for trouble around all that noise.
