PSA: our office wifi died the day the new tenant moved in upstairs
Our ping went from 8ms to 400ms in one afternoon last month because the suite above us plugged in their own router right on top of ours. If you share a building, set your channels manually and check for new APs every few weeks, has anyone else had a neighbor's gear wreck their signal?
This feels like the dumbest version of the tragedy of the commons, where one person's cheap router quietly taxes everyone around them. Same thing happens with shared parking spots, loud music through thin walls, or someone's leaf blower at 7am on a Saturday. People just don't see the cost they push onto everyone else until somebody checks the numbers.
