My comic shop guy called me out on my collecting habits

I used to buy every #1 issue and variant cover, chasing that 'investment' high. After my local shop owner in Phoenix pointed out I was spending over $400 a month on books I never read, I switched to just following characters I actually like. Anyone else get pulled back from the speculator edge by a good shop employee?
