Had a talk with my buddy Mark about how he reads comics

He told me he skips straight to the action scenes and barely reads the dialog. Made me realize I've been treating comics like novels instead of like a visual medium where the art does most of the work. Anyone else ever have that moment where you realize you've been reading them wrong the whole time?

Man I had that SAME realization about three years ago with my weekly pull list. I was reading every word bubble in every panel of every issue and getting burnt out fast. Switched up my approach for something like "The Immortal Hulk" and just LET the art tell me the story first. Now I skim dialog for plot beats but let Greg Smallwood or Daniel Warren Johnson's layouts do the heavy lifting. Really changes how fast you get through a TPB too.

Whoa, gotta push back a little @carr.willow, I actually read every word bubble and love the slow burn.
