Am I the only one who gets annoyed at the gatekeeping in the back issue bins?

I've been picking up old X-Men issues for about 2 years now, and I swear there's this one guy at my local shop who acts like a detective every time I grab something. Last month I pulled a beat up Uncanny X-Men #210 from the dollar bin and he goes "oh you just want that because of the movie right?" No dude, I wanted it because the cover looked cool and I had 2 bucks. It's way better when I just shop online or hit up a different store in the next town over where people actually let you enjoy comics without a quiz. Has anyone else dealt with that weird "prove you're a real fan" attitude at a shop?

Hold up, are we really gatekeeping Uncanny X-Men #210 from the dollar bin? I get what you're saying about the movie thing being annoying, but #210 has a pretty cool Wolverine cover and it's a solid Byrne issue anyway, who cares why someone grabs it? The whole point of a dollar bin is to let people dig around and find stuff that catches their eye without having to explain themselves. I've had shop guys try to quiz me on why I'm grabbing a random issue before, and I just tell them I liked the art or the price, end of story. It's your money, they should be happy someone is buying back issues at all instead of just flipping through them.

Actually #210 is a 1987 Byrne issue, not really a movie tie-in.
