Why does nobody talk about how much time group projects actually waste?

I used to think group projects were great because you split the work. Then last semester I had a marketing group where we spent 3 hours just arguing about font choices for a 10 slide presentation. Three people wanted Comic Sans unironically. I honestly miss just doing everything myself sometimes because the endless 'hey can you check this' texts at 11 PM are exhausting. Has anyone else had a group that basically became a social club instead of getting work done?

Comic Sans unironically? I think I'd have to drop out of that group immediately.

Ngl I used to hate Comic Sans too, but someone showed me how it's actually easier for dyslexic readers and some people with learning disabilities. That honestly changed my whole perspective on it. I still wouldn't use it for a professional doc but I get why people unironically love it now.
