Took me 3 weeks to get my dorm AC unit fixed and it was just a tripped breaker
So the AC in my dorm room at State stopped working during that heat wave two weeks ago. I put in a work order on a Monday morning and the maintenance guy didn't show up until Friday afternoon. He poked around the unit for maybe 10 minutes, said he had to order a part, and left. Another week goes by with me sleeping in the common room because my room was hitting 85 degrees. I called the front desk three times and they kept saying it was 'in the queue.' Finally I flagged down a different maintenance guy in the hallway and he walks in, looks at the outlet, and goes 'oh, the breaker tripped.' He flipped the switch on the wall and cold air came blasting out in like 30 seconds. Three weeks of misery for a switch flip. Has anyone else had their dorm maintenance drag out a simple fix forever, and is there a trick to getting them to actually come faster?
