TIL my cheap blade grinder was ruining my pour over
I always used a $20 grinder from the big box store for my morning coffee. Yesterday my friend brought over his fancy burr grinder and we made two cups with the same beans. The difference was crazy, mine tasted bitter and his was super smooth. I guess the cheap blades make uneven grounds that mess up the extraction. Anyone have a good budget burr grinder they'd recommend?

My old blade grinder sounded like a rock in a paint can. Spencer_ross is right about the hacking, I had grounds the size of boulders mixed with dust. Upgraded to a basic manual burr grinder for about forty bucks and it's like a different drink. The extra minute of grinding is worth it.
