Spent 3 weeks learning CSS grids and now my layouts actually make sense

Last month I was stuck on a project at the library in Austin where I couldn't get three boxes to line up right. I'd been using float and inline-block for everything and it was a total mess. A guy at the coffee shop next door told me to just learn CSS grid instead of fighting with old methods. Three weeks later I rebuilt my whole practice site in two hours and it actually looks like a real website. Has anyone else had that moment where one new trick just clicks.

Oh man that's exactly how I felt when I finally got grid! It's like the whole web layout puzzle just falls into place. I spent so long trying to hack floats together with clearfixes and margin tricks, and then boom, grid comes along and makes it all obvious. The thing that really blew my mind was how you can overlap items on purpose with grid, like putting text on top of images without messing with absolute positioning. Once you learn grid-template-areas too, you can rearrange whole sections just by moving words around. It honestly makes building responsive sites feel like magic compared to the old days.

Used to think grid was overhyped but yeah, it totally changed my mind.
