Just caught a bug because I forgot semicolons in JavaScript

I spent 2 hours debugging a function that just wouldn't run, and it turned out I was missing semicolons at the end of two lines. My buddy on Discord pointed it out by pasting my code into a linter, which is something I never thought to use as a beginner. Has anyone else had a stupid simple error like this eat up their whole afternoon?

Semicolons are just JavaScript's way of reminding us who's boss, right? Nothing like staring at code for two hours just to find out you forgot to tell the program "okay I'm done with this line now.
