I bought a $40 online course on Python basics and it was a total waste

I saw an ad for a course that promised to teach me Python in a weekend. The videos were just a guy reading slides out loud, and the exercises were broken. I learned more from the free tutorials on the official Python website in one afternoon. Has anyone else found a good, actually helpful beginner course that doesn't cost a fortune?
