Vent: the night shift guy who ran the same part for 6 hours with the spindle off
So last Tuesday around 3am at our shop in Dayton, I walked past Bill's mill and heard nothing, no cut, no coolant, just the spindle spinning air while the program ran. He had loaded a fresh block of 6061 and forgot to hit cycle start on the actual tool path, so the machine just ran the rapids and sat there for what turned out to be 6 hours. When I asked him about it he looked me dead in the eye and said 'well the light was green, so I figured it was fine.' I still think about that green light every time I walk the floor now, has anyone else worked with a guy who trusts the stack light more than his own ears?
