Small win: swapped my lawn mower for a manual reel mower, 6 weeks in
I finally gave up on the gas mower after the carburetor clogged again in July. Picked up a reel mower off Craigslist for $40 and honestly thought I'd hate it. First cut took me almost an hour for my tiny 2,500 sq ft yard, but now I'm down to 35 minutes. No gas smell, no earplugs needed, and the grass actually looks cleaner, like scissor cut instead of shredded. My neighbor asked if he could borrow it and I think he's about to switch too. Anyone else try going manual and stick with it past the novelty?

The "scissor cut instead of shredded" part really got me. I've noticed lately that everyone's in such a hurry to finish things fast that we forget the slower way is often just better done. Same thing with things like hand washing dishes or taking stairs, you end up appreciating the routine more.
