PSA: my $40 compost bin paid for itself in 3 months

I got one of those tumbling compost bins from a local hardware store in Portland for $40. It felt like a waste at first because my kitchen scraps barely filled it for weeks. But once I started adding yard clippings and coffee grounds from the shop down the street, it took off. My garbage pickup went from 2 bags a week to 1, which saves me $8 a month on extra tags. Plus the dirt I use in my garden means I stopped buying $12 bags of soil. Anyone else tried a tumbler vs a plain pile, and did yours actually break down fast?
