My neighbor told me to stop bagging my grass clippings and let them mulch back into the lawn. I thought it was nonsense, but after a dry summer, his yard was still green.

Yeah, tried it last year and it actually works. The clippings help keep moisture in.

Charlie_fisher45 is right about the moisture. I found it cuts down on watering by a lot, especially during dry spells.

Wait, is it really that big of a deal? I just let my clippings fall and never noticed a huge difference. Maybe my soil just drains too fast for it to matter.
