Vent: lost 3 hours of Quake mapping work last night because I hit compile before saving
Was in TrenchBroom at 1am adding the last few spawn points for my DM map and hit F9 out of habit, and the whole editor just locked up and closed on me. Now I'm saving every 5 minutes like a paranoid weirdo, has anyone found a good autosave plugin or do you all just live with the fear?

Hitting F9 out of habit at 1am is the most Quake mapper thing I've ever heard, that muscle memory is a curse. The editor locking up right as you finish the fun part is just the universe reminding you who's in charge. I lost a whole cave section once the same way and sat there staring at the screen like it owed me money. No autosave plugin ever saved me from myself honestly, they all seem to miss the exact moment you need them. Now I just smash ctrl+s after every brush move like a weirdo too, so welcome to the club.
