Spent $60 on a secondhand GBA flash cart and it corrupted my save after 10 hours

I grabbed an old EZ-Flash IV from a flea market for $60 last month, but loading Doom on it wiped my Metroid Fusion save file mid-run, so has anyone else had luck with the new Omega cards or am I just stuck with original carts?
