I thought Quake map editors were overkill until I visited the Internet Archive in San Francisco
I always just used the basic level editor that came with the game because I figured fancy tools were a waste of time lol. But last month I drove down to the Internet Archive in San Francisco and some guy named Dave was showing off old Quake mod files from 1997, and he walked me through how TrenchBroom makes brushwork way cleaner. Seeing how fast he could build a working layout in like 20 minutes totally changed my mind. Now I'm wondering if anyone else here switched editors after years of sticking with the default one?
