That $4 gas station tamale was the best thing I ate in Boise
A buddy dragged me into the Shell on Fairview Avenue swearing by their hot case, and I laughed until I bit into one with the husk barely steaming. Now I drive across town every Friday for a dozen, have you folks found any other hidden gems hiding behind a counter you'd normally skip?

Man, that's the thing about this town. People sleep on the spots that don't look like anything from the outside, but the folks running them actually give a damn about what they're serving. It's like we've all been trained to trust the shiny places with the big signs, but the real gold is always behind some greasy counter with a dude who's been doing it for twenty years. I've noticed it everywhere, not just food. The best mechanic, the best barber, the best taco truck, they're all the ones you'd drive right past if you weren't paying attention. Once you find that first one, you start looking at every strip mall different, like a secret map you didn't know you had.
