That surge protector that saved my whole rig in Austin
My desktop started randomly restarting last Tuesday, thought it was the PSU dying. Turns out the cheap power strip I had for 3 years was fried from a lightning strike two blocks away. Grabbed a $25 surge protector with a $10k warranty from Fry's before they closed, and it caught the next brownout perfectly. Anyone else cheap out on power protection and regret it until something actually pops?

and honestly that $25 saved my whole setup too, upgraded to a battery backup after that and never looked back.
