My $6 PSU fan swap fixed a noise I'd ignored for a year
Found a busted 80mm fan in my old power supply and swapped it with a random one from a dead GPU, cost me nothing since I had it lying around. The buzzing was driving me nuts and a shop wanted $80 for the fix. Anyone else ever rebuilt a quiet PC from spare junk parts?}

Did you check the fan's airflow direction before you put it in, or did you just get lucky that it wasn't pushing air the wrong way? I've done similar swaps and sometimes the polarity or the RPMs are way off, which can mess with the PSU's cooling curve. Just curious because that's usually the part that bites me when I try to save a buck like that.
