Worst week I ever had in this trade
Three years ago I had a job in a McMansion outside Austin. 4000 square feet of carpet. The builder spec'd some cheap berber that unraveled if you looked at it wrong. I had to seam 6 rooms. Every single seam showed. Homeowner rejected it on day one. I ate the cost of replacement carpet. $2,800 out of my pocket. Plus I lost a week of other work. Anyone else ever take a loss on a job just to keep your reputation clean?

Hey @felix_jones, you ever try using berber scraps for stuffing dog beds? My buddy's lab tore through one in about 20 minutes, then threw up a bunch of fibers on his new couch. That $2,800 hit stings, I took a similar one on a shag job where the homeowner's cat decided the pile was a scratching post. Kept the scraps for a year before my wife finally made me toss 'em in the burn pile.

Did you at least keep the scraps for rags or did the wife make you toss those too?
