Finally got the tricky miter on a custom picture frame right

Had to choose between recutting the whole piece or trying to fill a tiny gap with glue and sawdust. Went with the recut and it fit perfect, saved me a headache later. Anyone else have a go-to trick for those stubborn 45-degree joints?

Used to patch them but recutting always works better, doesn't it?

Isn't it funny how often the quick fix just wastes more time? I've found that with so many things, from fixing a bad haircut to dealing with a leaky pipe, putting in the work for a full restart saves so much hassle later. It feels like we're trained to go for the band-aid solution first. But that deep down, we always know starting fresh is the real answer.
