The one Wednesday last July that totally wrecked my project timeline

So I'm a project coordinator for a small construction firm in Portland, and we had this one Wednesday last July where everything that could go wrong did. We had a crew of 8 guys show up to the wrong site because the scheduler merged two job addresses on the calendar by mistake. Then the lumber delivery for the Johnson house got delayed by 3 days because the supplier's truck broke down on I-5. I spent like 2 hours on the phone with the client trying to explain why we couldn't start framing until Friday. That day taught me to triple-check every detail before the week starts and to have backup plans for the backup plans. Has anyone else had a single day throw off their whole week like that and how did you bounce back?

@jennifer_west wait, you think this level of chaos is just "not paying attention"? that's wild to me. the scheduler merged two job addresses in the calendar? how does a person even do that by accident? i mean, i triple check my own gear lists before every shift and stuff still slips through the cracks. the lumber delivery breaking down on i-5 is just bad luck, nobody can plan around a truck breaking down out of nowhere. you can be the most detail oriented person on earth and the universe can still just throw a wrench in your day.
