That "quick fix" resume rewrite took me 3 months not 3 days
Everyone says just tweak your resume and you're good. I spent an entire weekend on mine and got zero callbacks. Ended up rewriting it from scratch 6 times over 3 months after talking to recruiters. Turns out the popular advice about one page and action verbs is mostly fluff. Each industry wants something totally different. Has anyone else had to scrap their whole resume strategy?

The whole "quick fix" thing is everywhere, not just resumes. I've noticed people use that same logic for diets, cleaning schedules, even relationships. It's like this idea that anything worth doing can be hacked in a weekend, when really the good stuff (like actually getting a job) takes time to figure out the real rules. Your recruiter talks sound like the only honest advice out there, since most career blogs just copy each other's buzzwords.

The one page thing is totally overhyped... recruiters barely look at it anyway.
