That $70 dry bag ripped on day two of a Boundary Waters trip

Took a cheap dry bag from a big box store up to the Boundary Waters last July, paid 70 bucks for it because I figured name brand was overkill. Second day, I set it on a granite ledge for 5 minutes and the bottom seam split like wet paper, soaking my sleeping bag. Do I just need to pay the $150 for a roll-top brand, or is there a middle ground that actually holds up to canoe portages?

Did you ever think the cheap stuff was secretly fine too? I used to, but now I won't trust anything under a hundred bucks.
