My old two-burner stove finally gave out after 12 years, switched to a canister stove for a week trip.

I used the same Coleman propane stove since 2012 and it served me well through dozens of trips. Last month on a trip to Shenandoah, one of the burners started sputtering and the other wouldn't light at all. I picked up a simple single-burner canister stove for about $30 to finish the trip. The difference in boil time was shocking, it brought water to a rolling boil in under 2 minutes compared to 5 or 6 with the old one. Has anyone else noticed a big jump in performance switching to these smaller stoves?

Are you really getting that much faster boil times than a well used propane stove?

I timed it with a stopwatch. My Jetboil boils 2 cups in about 90 seconds. My old coleman propane stove took closer to 3 minutes for the same amount. So yeah, it's a pretty big difference, especially when you're tired and just want coffee.
