Fixed a sticky shutter on a classic SLR for almost nothing, client was over the moon.

Had a guy come in with a camera that had a shutter that wouldn't fire right. A bit of cleaning and a drop of oil got it snapping like new, cost him next to nothing. It feels good to help, but then you debate: do small fixes like this deserve a full service fee, or is the future business worth more? Some shops stick to strict pricing, others see it as building a community. How do you balance that?

Oh man, I'm the worst at this. I'd probably charge him a coffee and then wonder why my rent's late. Good on you for actually thinking it through.
