Clearing out my basement repair station brought back memories of fixing cameras with just a screwdriver and patience.

I used to spend HOURS under a lamp aligning shutters, but now everything's digital and it's just not the same.

My local camera repair guy closed last year, says nothing's made to be fixed anymore.

My buddy's old Nikon needed a fix, the quote cost more than a new camera.

Actually, some newer stuff isn't totally hopeless to fix. @kai327 just got a bad quote, but there are still folks out there who won't charge more than the camera's worth.
