I finally stopped fighting with connectors after a senior tech told me you need to listen for the click not just feel for it

Had a 25-year guy from Comcast watch me struggle with an F connector on a hot roof in Austin and he just said "you're forcing it, listen for the click instead," which sounds stupid simple but now I nail them first try every time, has anyone else had a tiny tip like that completely change how you do a basic task?

Oh wow, this is one of those things where I totally rolled my eyes the first time I heard it too... I was like "click? what click?" because I was so used to just cranking down on everything. But then I actually stopped and listened and yeah, there's a distinct little snap when it's seated right. It's wild how the smallest thing like that saves so much time and aggravation, especially when you're on a ladder or somewhere cramped.
