Found a weird trick for fishing RG6 through blown-in insulation
Was working on a house in Austin last week where the attic was full of that loose fiberglass crap, and my fish tape kept getting stuck. After wasting like 45 minutes cussing I grabbed a shop vac and taped a piece of PVC pipe to the hose. Sucked a pull string right through a 30 foot run in about 2 minutes flat. Anyone else use weird tools like that to get past tricky insulation jobs?

Well, I had to laugh at "cussing for 45 minutes" because I've been there myself. My husband always jokes that I have a special talent for turning simple jobs into three-act dramas. That shop vac trick is genius though, and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it sooner. Last time I was fishing wires through my own attic I ended up using a straightened wire coat hanger taped to a wooden yardstick it was ridiculous and it still took ages. You've inspired me to try the vacuum method next time I have to run cable. That loose fiberglass stuff is the absolute worst for snagging everything in sight.

Read that shop vac trick saves hours of frustration compared to coat hangers.
