DIY installs have cables too close to power lines more often.
This always causes noise issues and more callbacks.

Seen plenty of DIY jobs that turned out fine. Doubt it happens that much or the noise is usually that bad.

Can say from experience my DIY shelf sounds like a microwave sometimes.

Hear you loud and clear @sage_lewis10. Built a desk once that had a constant high pitched buzz from some internal vibration. Drove me nuts trying to find it. Sounded like a fridge mixed with bad wiring. Ended up being two pieces of wood rubbing in a way I never predicted. That kinda noise just grates on you after a while, like nails on a chalkboard.
