Vent: I just had a $400 slab of walnut split on me during a dry fit in my shop
I was putting the face frame on a built-in and heard that awful crack, so now I'm trying to figure out if I can salvage it with a butterfly key or if I need to start over completely, has anyone pulled a piece back from a break like this?

Man that's a total gut punch, hearing that crack. A butterfly key can definitely work if the split is clean. Good luck saving it, that's some expensive wood.

Ever tried using a thin epoxy fill before the butterfly key?
