Took me 7 years to realize my drawer slides were the problem, not my measuring
Been building cabinets since 2016 and always struggled with drawers binding on the right side. Last month I finally noticed the slides I was using had a 1/16" tolerance that I was ignoring, and my scribe marks were off by that exact amount every time. Swapped to the Blum soft-close with the self-aligning tabs and the difference was night and day. Anyone else ever blame their layout skills when the hardware was the real culprit?

Blame the cheap stuff first and you'll waste years chasing your own tail. That 1/16" is exactly like the wobbly outlet cover or the crooked closet rod, tiny hardware flaws we assume are our fault. Once you learn to check the tool before the skill, everything else in life gets way less frustrating.
